The Club is named after Frank Balfour-Browne, who pioneered field studies and biological recording in general, and did much to promote the study of water beetles.
British Entomological and Natural History Society
The Society was founded in 1872 as the South London Entomological and Natural History Society and since its inception has always included amongst its members many of the leading entomologists of the day.

The Royal Entomological Society is devoted to the understanding and development of insect science. The RES supports international collaboration, research and publication.
